As I was browsing through the Internet today I stumbled across a quote that really hit home for me. “Life is like riding a bike, to keep your balance you must keep going.” This is so incredibly true and this applies to my life completely and I’m sure it applies to everyone’s in some way or another.

I have experienced several times in my life when things didn’t quite work out the way I had hoped for them to. It could have been easy to quit and give up but I chose to keep going. I don’t know what made me tell myself to keep going, but I just knew I had to. I think a lot of it was that I chose to hold myself accountable for my success in life and business. I couldn’t hold anyone else accountable for that because it shouldn’t be their responsibility. Only YOU can create the right path for yourself.

I see so often where people will start up a new business with hopes of reaching the top overnight. They see many people around them succeeding but they don’t factor in the time these people have taken to get to where they are. When they don’t see instant results, they decide to throw in the towel and keep doing the same thing they have been doing for the last ten years.

Here’s how I look at it: if you are currently unhappy with your current career, the only thing you can do is to try and make a change. If you decide to start a different business, you have to be willing to be patient and allow things to fall into place. If you give up you are in the same boat as in when started but if you keep going, you are bettering yourself each and everyday. Eventually the hard work will pay off and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

When you first learned to ride a bike did you give it one shot and just immediately start riding into the wind? More than likely you didn’t. You needed some practice and you had to fall a couple times until you got the hang of it. You didn’t give up though and you realized if you just kept peddling you would continue to ride. Success is the same way. You just have to keep pedaling even when you hit a bump in the road and fall down. Just get right back up and start going again. Eventually you will just glide ride past the bumps and they will no longer knock you down.

Everyone’s success story is different but they all have bumps and corners that slow us down. Just remember to keep going and never give up because eventually your hard work will pay off.
