Finding the courage to step outside of your comfort zone can be very difficult. Especially when you might not see the support you had hoped for when making the decision to pursue those dreams. Being prepared to walk your journey alone will be the best move you could make because when you do have people who support you, you will appreciate them so much more.

I was lucky enough to have the support from my immediate family when I decided to pursue my dreams, but I was fully prepared to walk the walk alone until they knew what I was doing was worth it. You must have the respect for people who are skeptical and understand their fears because most of them only want what’s best for you.

There will be a few people who just think your ideas are completely absurd and don’t want to support you at all, and that is okay too. More than likely you didn’t need that type of energy in your life to begin with. There were several people who thought I was crazy for pursuing my entrepreneurship dreams and they moved on and they are no longer a part of my life. And that is okay.

What I want to emphasize on is that it is completely okay if people walk out of your life. That is their decision and if you believe in what you are doing, then that’s all that matters. You don’t need the reassurance from anyone else. You can see something that other people can’t and I strongly believe you should always follow your heart. Had I not followed my heart, I would NOT be where I am today. I trusted MYSELF and I listened to NO ONE who tried to hold me back.

Walking your success road alone could be a huge blessing for you. It could give you time to reflect on the relationships you thought were “real” and the friends you thought were “supportive.” You might come to realize that many of the people you surrounded yourself with were holding you back from what you were destined to do.

Like I have said before, the people you surround yourself with are a huge influence on your life so choose your inner circle wisely.
