I came across the quote “stars can’t shine without darkness” and began to think about how this applies to my success journey. I think everyone has their own interpretation of what the quote actually means, but for me, it means that everyone can experience a low point in their life but that does NOT mean they will never succeed. Without the darkness in my life, I wouldn’t be able to appreciate all of the hard work that needs to be put into being successful. Honestly the darkness that I experienced is why I am where I am today.
I know several other successful people who have experienced a time in their life where they thought about giving up because they could never catch a break. I’m not talking about just having a boring job and wanting more freedom; I’m talking about foreclosure on homes, relying on food stamps and food banks, and much more. All of these people chose to keep going because they knew there had to be a light at the end of the tunnel. They were right because eventually their opportunity came to change their lives and they took it. They tried something completely unconventional to hopefully get out of their slump, and it happened. The chance they took changed their lives for the better and now they are a star shining in their own darkness.
You might be at a point in your life where you know something has got to change because your future isn’t looking good. If that is the case, look up success stories and see just how far some people have actually come. I saw a post yesterday regarding several very well known wealthy people and it told what they did before they found success and what age they were. There were several people on that list who didn’t find their niche until much later in life. This told me that it is NEVER too late for you to change your future.
Everyone has experienced darkness in their life but the true test is whether or not you believe that you can shine through that darkness. The opportunities are there, but it’s up to you to take them.
