Fireworks, barbeques, and celebration are what America does every year on the Fourth of July. It is the day that marks our country’s freedom from Britain and a day that has been legally celebrated since 1941. Fourth of July is definitely a holiday that not many Americans miss.

What could you not like about The Fourth of July? It’s the perfect day to be thankful for our freedom and celebrate what a great country we live in. We get to take a much-needed break from work and get to bask in the warm summer sun next to our family. The Fourth is a perfect example of how America has continued the same traditions since the holiday has been legally accepted and I’m sure the traditions will continue for many years to come.

I like to think of The Fourth of July (and all other holidays) as a great way for people to set aside their differences and show their appreciation for our country. We’ve overcome a lot since declaring our independence and I think celebrating this every year is important. We have to remember that the holiday isn’t just about getting a day off work and an excuse to set off fireworks. There’s a meaning behind every holiday that is celebrated and it’s important to keep sight of that while having a good time.

We live in the greatest country in the world and our freedom deserves to be celebrated. Take time to appreciate all of the hard work that our ancestors put into this country and be thankful we have overcome yet another year of challenges. Enjoy this day with your family and friends and soak up the sun!!
