Digital content has been up and coming for the past several years and now it is completely dominating the content world. Just think about it, where do you typically see the majority of the content that you are reading? Do you still get a newspaper and read it every morning while drinking your coffee, or do you just log onto your computer and browse the news channels on there? As far as myself goes, I get the majority of my information in the digital form.

Digital content makes our lives easier, and that’s what it’s all about, right? Convenience. That’s why technology has continued to dominate the communication world as well. It’s easier for people to communicate via computer and telephone than to write a letter or get up and go knock on their door.

Something important to remember though, the content you provide has got to be significant and worth reading. You don’t want to give out information that is virtually useless. Here are three reasons why choosing the right content is important:

Content Educates Your Audience:

Education is the first step a potential customer takes when deciding whether a product or service is right for them. Before they can make a choice, they need to fully understand the options available to them. This means you need to have content that properly educates audience members on what you can provide.

Education content should be throughout your entire website. You want your audience to know what you have to offer. Me for example: I enjoy blogging, I have a course called Girl CEO Inner Circle which provides information to people looking to build and grow their business, I send regular emails out with valuable information, my about me section is full of information on how I changed the course of my life, etc. It’s important to be consistent with your content and make sure it goes along with what your mission is.

Content Fuels SEO:

Your SEO is what drives more people to see your website. If you had a question, where is the first place the majority of us go now? GOOGLE. We google the question and see what answers pop up. Most of the time it’s articles that have information pertaining to the question.

SEO revolves around keyword placement, backlinks, and website visitors, and your content enables you to create web pages that fuel each of these components. Without content, you’d have nowhere to place your keywords, no page for your visitors to read, and no information for other websites to link to. However, if you’re creating awesome pieces of content that your target audience is excited to engage with, you’ll find it’s not hard to reach the top of the search engine results lists.

Content Drives Social Media Strategies:

Social media platforms are one of the most important ways you can connect with your audience. You also don’t have to be engaged on every platform but the platform you are on, you need to dominate.

Social media is such a great tool for yourself. You can build a relationship with your followers and give and get answers to questions that will help your business grow.  It allows you to engage with your audience on a different level by encouraging them to participate in your posts and comment their suggestions and concerns. It helps your audience see that you are a real person and connect with you.
