If you’re anything like me, life can be pretty hectic at times and organization is key to helping my days run smoothly. Between running a successful business, being a mom, wife, and friend, there’s not a lot of room for error in my schedule or I may miss some of the most important things in my life. Thankfully I switched over to the planner life years ago and it has simplified my life tremendously, so much so  that I just released my second planner in hopes of helping other women simplify their lives too. Click here to check it out.

Here’s a few reasons why having a planner is so important:

Organize Your Schedule

Obviously planners help boost your organization. Most planners have different options like monthly, weekly, daily, and mine even has hourly view, to help keep your day completely in check. I have every appointment in my planner along with practices for the kids, special dinners, business meetings, birthdays, etc. You name it, I have it in my planner. The power of writing something down has always been very beneficial to my memory and being able to stay on track.

Even if I have something that happens every week at the same time, I write it down in my planner. It keeps me in a routine, that way I know I won’t ever miss anything. It’s also great for when someone is asking me about scheduling something, I know I have everything written down, even the events that seem to be like muscle memory now and easy to forget about. It’s so easy to become double booked if you don’t use a planner.

Over Committing Yourself

Having a planner can keep you from over committing yourself to things. Even if you have a slot free for that certain event that someone just asked you about, you may be booked packed that entire week and realize that you need some down time. Over committing yourself can cause you to get burn out really quick with whatever lifestyle you choose. It’s important to allow yourself free time to relax and recharge.
