“In life we’re either in the middle of a storm, coming out of one or about to enter into another one.” This is a saying my mentor often repeats to me. That can feel a little depressing if you think about it. I understand it’s her way of letting me know that in life there will be challenges and hard situations that we must go through. But to remember, it’s all a part of life. The highs and the lows. Yet, many of us don’t realize the strength we have to persevere through every hardship.
Whether you are seeking to heal from the hurt that happened in your past, received a daunting diagnose or are filled with grief, remember that you are stronger than you know. It may not seem like it as you are in the middle of it all, but strength manifests itself by taking it one day at a time, choosing to get out of bed in the morning, and giving yourself space to just be.
When you can’t see how what you’re experiencing today will impact your story tomorrow hold on to this truth: God is able to turn our mess into our message.
It’s getting through our struggles that will make us more confident, braver and wiser to know that if we’ve been here before then, we’ll get through it once again. Don’t you forget it!
Keep your head up babe!
